If you have a concern that's not listed, let me know!
That's quite all right. Oftentimes, folks come to counseling when they're feeling overwhelmed with life's many demands. We can start the conversation and see which direction makes sense to prioritize at this time.
We can start by understanding the scope of anxiety's presence in your life. What is it that it wants you to do? What kind of things does anxiety prevent you from doing? Once we've looked at that, we can test out some approaches for anxiety: some mental, some body-based, and some practical.
Of course! I provide support for folks who want to explore their sexual orientation and gender identity.
One of the first things I will ask you: are you in a safe place right now in your life? Who supports you? Who are your most trusted people? How can you stand in your own power in order to explore this part of you?
I operate from a trans-affirming perspective. I hold space for you to explore your feelings, beliefs, and constructions of gender and to decide what medical gender-affirming treatments you might be interested in.
There are so many ways of getting hurt at work: accidents, bullying and harassment, compassion fatigue, burnout, and moral injury, a type of traumatic stress that results from violating one's ethical and moral code while in the course of employment.
Let's talk about how your work has been impacting you, about what you like your relationship with work to look like, and how you view your vocation in life.
If you need help managing symptoms of traumatic stress, there are many tools at our disposal to try out: working with thoughts, working with the body, and working with meaning.
